Yogalilies offers a variety of classes for all levels. We strive to provide an enlightened experience to nurture your mind, body, and spirit. A few of our special touches include aromatherapy oils during practice, complimentary tea and cookies pre-and post- workshops and courses, and a focus on taking your practice off the mat.
Vinyasa Flow Yoga
Our Vinyasa Flow classes are dynamic classes that synchronise movement and breath in a continuous flow of poses, usually beginning with Sun Salutations. They are energetic, creative and lots of fun! Vinyasa classes are suitable for all levels, with variations and modifications offered throughout the class to support beginner students.
Slow Flow Yoga
Our Slow Flow classes are light and creative, but slower paced and gentler than our Vinyasa classes. Postures are generally held for longer periods, and the transitions between poses are a little slower. The more gentle nature of this class is great for beginners, but is also wonderful for intermediate and advanced students who feel like slowing it down and sinking deeper into their practice.
Our Yin Yoga classes are a slow-paced and calming style of yoga. Poses are held for longer periods of time with a focus on floor-based postures. Yin Yoga targets the connective tissues (ligaments, tendons and fascia) to help improve flexibility and create the feeling of space and freedom in your body. You will leave feeling amazing! These classes are suitable for all levels of students, and are a perfect complement to our more ‘yang’ Vinyasa Flow Classes.
Our Meditation classes incorporate yin postures to open and relax the body before we move into some guided meditations to calm and bring stillness to the mind. The class concludes with a grounding yoga nidra (yogi sleep) and long peaceful savasana. Pure bliss! These classes are suitable for all levels of students.
Our Beginner Classes run on a 4-week cycle and break down the fundamentals and core poses found in our yoga classes. You can join the program at any time, even if you start after Week 1. Best of all, you can repeat the program as many times as you like so you can really get your confidence up!
The 4-week cycle focuses on – week a: Sun Salutations – week b: Foundation Standing Postures – week c: Foundation Floor Postures and Twists – week d: Backbends and Inversions
Shakti Yoga is a Meditative Vinyasa Flow. This unique practice infuses the physical intensity of a level 1/2 class with the meditative practices of Mantra and Pranayama, creating a perfect balance of working the body while calming the mind. A deep internal awareness is created through the weaving of Classical Sun Salutations, Vinyasa Flows, Inversions, Backbends, Arm Balances, Hip Openers and other classical poses that is complemented by Yin Yoga restorative elements. Complete with a deep guided relaxation.
Kundalini Yoga is called the Yoga of Awareness and consists of simple yoga techniques that can be enjoyed by everyone, no matter what age or physical ability. It is a complete science that includes breath (pranayama), yoga postures (kriyas), chanting (mantras) and meditation.
With Kundalini Yoga you can build a healthy body, develop a balanced mind, make contact with your infinity and your innate inner wisdom as well as opening the door to your highest potential. It gives you the vitality and health that is your birth right. It makes you radiant, peaceful and strong. The nervous system is strengthened, the glandular system is balanced, meditation and mantra enhances mental concentration and calms the mind.
Hatha Flow Fusion Yoga
Suitable for all levels, shapes and sizes, Hatha Flow Fusion Yoga offers a vigorous yet accessible style of yoga which sculpts your body, builds strength and flexibility, releases stress and calms your mind. You’ll leave class feeling like you stepped out of your daily life and returned a different person!
Unlike a gym work out which works on specific muscle groups, our teacher will guide you through a yoga class that will stretch and strengthen your entire body. If you do other sports, Hatha Flow Fusion Yoga will support your recovery as well as injury prevention.
Is a nurturing practice releasing deep tension within the body and mind. Yoga asanas are held with the support of various props so it’s a practice of being rather than doing.
In the chaos of living we often forget how to let go and relax. Restorative Yoga allows the opportunity to nourish yourself and actually retrain your nervous system to find proper rest.
Revive your body and spirit by allowing yourself to sink down into a delicious state of relaxation. You will leave this session feeling reconnected, rejuvenated and revitalised.
Our Progressions Sessions run on a 4-week cycle and are great for those intermediate or more advanced students (or those wanting to progress to intermediate or advanced students) wanting to explore and play with more creative and challenging poses. You can join the program at any time and you can repeat the program as many times as you like!
The 4-week cycle focuses on – week a: Arm Balances – week b: Inversions – week c: Opening Poses – week d: Playful transitions
These sessions will run for 75 minutes and are a really good opportunity to deepen your practice, and build the confidence to incorporate some more creative and challenging poses into any Vinyasa and Slow Flow classes that you attend with us.
What do I Wear?
Please dress for comfort ensuring you have complete freedom of movement (most people wear stretch pants or shorts and a t-shirt or sports top). You don’t need shoes – you’ll train in bare feet or socks, whichever you prefer (bare feet is best). Mats are provided, however it is recommended that you bring your own to help build the relationship between you and your mat! Bring water and a towel.
